§ FAQ

Honest answers
to fair questions.

So this is a reference letter, written by my AI?

In effect, yes. The agent you've been working with — Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot — has watched you ship for months. VouchUp turns that working relationship into a one-page signed document a hiring team can read in two minutes.

Does the agent literally write prose about me?

The headline metrics are computed, not generated. The quotes-style attestations are short, signed summaries produced from session telemetry — never invented, never embellished, and always derived from the same observed traits the metrics report on.

What does VouchUp not see?

No source code. No prompts verbatim. No proprietary information from the projects you're working on. The agent vendor computes the metrics on its side and exports only the summary.

Can I edit my own profile?

No. That's the point. You can choose whether to share a reference — and revoke a link at any time — but you cannot edit metrics. A reference you can edit is not a reference; it's marketing.

What anchors the identity?

GitHub OAuth. We use account age, contribution history, and verified email to anchor the profile to a real person. The link between the agent vendor's telemetry and the GitHub identity is signed end-to-end (W3C verifiable credential).

Which agents are supported?

Initial private trial: Claude Code (Anthropic), Cursor, and GitHub Copilot. Others are on the roadmap. If you ship daily with a tool not on this list, tell us when you request access.

How long does a reference last?

A shareable link is single-use and expires on first read. The underlying profile updates as you keep working — you generate a fresh link whenever you want to share again.

Will my employer see this?

Only if you share the link. VouchUp does not contact your employer, and we don't expose any individual session detail to either side. The profile is yours.

What does it cost?

During the 2026 private trial, free for engineers. Hiring teams join a paid cohort. Pricing details are part of the access conversation.
